Tollywood actress Priyanka inaugurated the 10-day handloom exhibition, ‘Pochampally IKAT Art Mela’ at the National Small Industries Corporations (NSIC) Exhibition Centre in Kushaiguda on Friday.
Tollywood actress Priyanka inaugurated the 10-day handloom exhibition, ‘Pochampally IKAT Art Mela’ at the National Small Industries Corporations (NSIC) Exhibition Centre in Kushaiguda on Friday.
Priyanka said, “Platforms such as these are required to reach out women looking for well-designed handmade cotton, silk wear and exclusive home textile.”
The Mela is exhibiting exclusive handloom products like handmade bed and home linen, dress materials, silk and cotton sarees in exquisite designs and contemporary colours by famous designers, skillfully created by weavers of Pochampally.
“By promoting handlooms, we support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations. Promoting creativity and originality, each design is a result of individual artisan’s creativity, which is influenced by local traditions and cultures,” said the chairman of Pochampally Handloom Park, Devender.
