6 months prison for employing child labour

Birkur (Nizamabad): Mandal Education Officer Gopal Rao warned that six months imprisonment or a fine of Rs 50,000 or both would be imposed if anybody employs children in shops and houses.
During a raid here on Saturday on shops and establishments at Kamappa Centre, Ambedkar Circle and Gandhi Circle in the town, he identified two school dropout children.

The MEO said that the children be admitted in the local high school. He warned the shopkeepers not to employ children in the age group of 6 and 14 years. Mandal Education coordinator Narasimhulu, headmaster Sivaraj, and others were present.
