Warangal: Continuing its Community Service Projects in India, the North American Telugu Association (NATA), a non-profit organisation serving the Telugu community of Indian origin living in United States and Canada, has come up with a series of programmes to promote social, cultural and student assistance activities starting from December 23, in both Telugu speaking states – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Disclosing the details of the programmes here on Saturday, NATA President-elect Rajeshwar Reddy Gangasani said that they have planned to organise several community services as part of NATA Seva Days. “The NATA will organise several programmes including seminars, symposiums and ‘A Walk’ in support of ‘Save A Girl Child’ and ‘Women Empowerment, ‘Student Uplift in the Globalisation Era’ on December 23,” Reddy said, reeling out their other community service programmes such as holding health camps, providing scholarships to poor students and setting up drinking water plants.

A rally will be organised from the 1,000 Pillars temple to Public Gardens at 4 pm in which around 500 artistes representing various folk arts will take part, Reddy said. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari will be the chief guest for the folk festival and other cultural events.

Efforts are on to invite the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya for the Awareness Walk on ‘Save A Girl Child’.
