Chittoor Mayor Katari murder Accused Chintu surrenders before police

Chintu, the prime accused in the murder of the Mayor couple from Chittoor district - Anuradha Katari and her husband Mohan Katari surrendered before a court in Chittoor on Monday. Chintu is a marine engineering graduate and was the nephew of deceased Anuradha.

The first woman mayor of Chittoor, Katari Anuradha and her husband K. Mohan were killed in a pre-meditated attack at her office chambers in broad daylight recently. Soon after the incident, Chintu went into hiding and police launched a man hunt to nab him.
Meanwhile, the court sent him to 14 days' judicial custody. The police asked the court for a week custody of Chintu for the investigation, to which the Court granted permission.
