Australian co keen to invest in solar energy projects in AP

An Australian company has come forward to invest in solar and wind energy plants in Andhra Pradesh. The representatives of Heliostat company met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Saturday and said that they would submit a project report soon.

Vijayawada: An Australian company has come forward to invest in solar and wind energy plants in Andhra Pradesh. The representatives of Heliostat company met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Saturday and said that they would submit a project report soon.

Speaking on the occasion, company CEO Jesanmay, vice-president Col Yadwendra Saha explained their expertise in wind energy production. They said that they have come forward to invest in the State as the wind energy production cost would be less in AP.

Chief Minister asked them to extend technical expertise to set up an university for renewable energy in the State and said the State is ready for research in renewable energy sector.

He said that the State reached a stage of surplus power and received awards from Central government.

The CM said a target was set to produce 22,000 MW power in coming 4 to 5 years and said the government is keen on improving power generation on par with international standards and extending invitations to international companies.

Department of Energy Chief Secretary Ajay Jain, Company Director Nilima Chowdary and General Manager Raghava-charyulu were also present.
