TDP releases Roja tapes to nail lies of YSRCP

Hyderabad: Hours after the YSRCP served notice of no–confidence motion against AP Assembly Speaker K Sivaprasada Rao on Wednesday, TDP released video footage purportedly showing “sleazy and abusive” comments made against the ruling TDP leaders by YSRCP MLA R K Roja and others. Roja was suspended from the House for one year.

Government Chief Whip Kalava Srinivasulu said that the tapes were released as the main opposition has been trying to mislead people on the facts of the incident happed on December 18. Even after committing mistake there was no change in the attitude of the opposition, and it continues to claim that it was victimised by the ruling party.

So, we have decided to put the facts before the people, which led to the suspension of Roja. He said the tapes being aired on TV channels makes it clear that Roja has used the words like “Dr Kama CM and that he was conferred doctorate for sex racket,” he said.

When asked about the authenticity of the video footage and how they were released selectively, Srinivasulu said that the party had applied to the Speaker requesting for the video footage on December 21. The YSRCP and BJP too are said to have made similar requests on December 22.

Against this backdrop, the Speaker had called for an all-party meeting on Wednesday to discuss the issue to which the TDP and BJP members attended, and YSRCP did not turn up. In response to the request made, we were provided video footage of the day’s incidents, which in turn nails the lies of the main opposition party.

The footage clearly exposes the conduct which was unbecoming on the part of the YSRCP MLAs, he added. Srinivasulu said another YSRCP member Kodali Nani had called CM a psycho and compared Naidu with a bull and all this is clearly audible in the tape.

So they thought let the people know the truth and decide. Reacting to the release of the footage, Roja said that she did not use any abusive language. In fact, it was the TDP members who always make all kinds of comments against her.

“Even TDP women minister P Sujatha had in the past said that she had video tapes in which I acted in a sleazy manner. People should understand how much I would felt hurt from such statements. Even senior members like G Butchaiah Chowdary have been making all kinds of remarks against me,” she said.

Asked if she had made personal remarks against TDP MLA Anita, she denied having made any such remarks. She reiterated that the Chief Minister was behind the call money sex racket. He was also caught red handed in the cash-for-vote scam. Only to divert the attention, the TDP was resorting to cheap tactics like selective release of video tapes, she alleged.
