WOWZAPP 2015 is a national level technology competition conducted by K12 Activity Academy across Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata and Delhi regions. The first regional final was held on December 19, 2015 at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet.
Hyderabad: WOWZAPP 2015 is a national level technology competition conducted by K12 Activity Academy across Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata and Delhi regions. The first regional final was held on December 19, 2015 at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet.
Across both the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, over 500 teams applied for this competition, 200 were shortlisted and 40 teams managed to reach the finals.
The finals will be held in the month of January in Hyderabad or Delhi. The winners of this regional final will qualify to participate in the National Finals. Across India, there are more than 750 teams that have applied. The target for next year is to take this beyond 5000 teams.
WOWZAPP 2015 is being judged by a diverse and highly reputed panel from the technology industries, luminaries from education, celebrities from the cultural Stream and successful entrepreneurs from the IT industry. “Our vision is to reach over 10000 schools of all types across India and impact over a million children in a positive way.
While some of our efforts may be for profit, some of our efforts will remain to be not-for-profit in nature. We would like to help the bottom of the pyramid ecosystem and help transform lives where possible” Phani Kondepudi, K12 Activity Academy concludes.
K12 Activity Academy an interactive academy which teaches future and relevant technologies to the K-12 generation is founded a year ago by Phani Kondepudi.
The main aim of this academy is to teach school children how to build mobile applications, robotics, Raspberry Pi and multi-technology solutions and their applications in real life. Activity Academy has its foot print in over 150 schools across India and has impacted over 15,000 students.
“I was an educational consultant with Microsoft; I wanted to teach kids future technologies from grass roots level, but as I could not do it from my employer I quit it and started my own company K12 Activity Academy”, says Phani.
“Kids of today’s generation are tech-savvy and are great with technology. Our intent is to introduce technology at an early stage to help drive innovation, education, career choices and social responsibility from an early stage.
I strongly believe that the future generations will face a wind of technologies, faster consumption of technology and transforming innovations. Hence, this effort of ours becomes very relevant, crucial and critical”, vhe adds.
