Krishna University Inter Collegiate (KRUIC) Softball men’s trophy for the year 2016-17 was won by AG & SG Siddhartha College, Vuyyuru of Krishna district by beating Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada with 8-7 runs here on Sunday. In the final match both the teams gave a fitting game to each other for the trophy.
Krishna University Inter Collegiate (KRUIC) Softball men’s trophy for the year 2016-17 was won by AG & SG Siddhartha College, Vuyyuru of Krishna district by beating Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada with 8-7 runs here on Sunday. In the final match both the teams gave a fitting game to each other for the trophy.
The final match was held at PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College in the city and Andhra Loyola College was left with the second place. While Dr LHR Government Degree College of Mylavaram and SRR and CRR Government Degree College, Vijayawada stood third and fourth places respectively. Dr LHR beat SRR by 10-3 runs.
Siddhartha Academy member Perla Bhima Rao presented the trophies to winners and runner up teams. Speaking on the occasion Bhima Rao said sports and games are part of education. Students should participate in sports and games which would be benefited for further higher studies and jobs, he added.
In this connection the organising committee has felicitated VSR Government Degree College Physical Director Dr N David, who is going to retire in March. Tournament organising secretary Dr N Srinivasa Rao presented the tournament report. Siddhartha Institute of Hotel Management Principal K Chandra Sekhar, PB Siddhartha College Principal Dr M Ramesh and others attended in the concluding function.
