Cross river swimming competitions conducted by Aquatic Devils Welfare Association evoked a huge response from swimmers of all ages on January 29. The organisers conducted the swimming competitions in five categories and presented gold coin weighing two grams for each winner. The expert swimmers crossed the Krishna river from Prakasam barrage Durga ghat side to Lotus hotel in Tadepalli mandal of Guntur district.

The event was conducted separately for the age groups of 5-15, 16-30, 31-45,46 to 60 and 60 and above. Swimmers both boys and girls enthusiastically participated in the competitions and showed their swimming capability in the river. District collector Babu A and Chairman of the Aquatic Devils Welfare Association and MP Gokaraju Gangaraju inaugurated the swimming competitions.

The Association president K S Ramachandra Rao and Secretary L Ramakrishna have organised it successfully. Each winner received gold coin of two gram at the presentation ceremony conducted by organisers. Swimmers and parents attended the event. Ramachandra Rao said the Association had conducted the competitions 18th time and encouraging the swimming as it is good for health.
