115 paediatric cardiology and cardiac surgeries done successfully
Pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery camp is being held in association with UK-based Healing Little Hearts at the Heart and Brain Institute of Andhra Hospitals. The camp started on March 19 and will conclude on today, according to Andhra Hospitals director Dr P V Rama Rao.

Addressing a press meet on Friday, he said that a team of doctors from UK had been performing complex heart surgeries which include atrial septal defect with complications, ventricular septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus with complications, total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage and other complex heart diseases.
Dr Rama Rao further said that a team of 12 doctors from world famous UK hospitals, Alderhey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester, Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Brisbane led by consultant pediatric cardiologist K Vikram. Had planned 25 free heart surgeries during this week.
He said that for the past 15 months, the hospital performed 115 cardiology and cardiac surgeries. The team comprised of doctors Prem, Gopi, Mahesh, Nayan, Rajesh, Laura, Sophie, Marie, Octavia, Anu, Naveen, Srimannarayana, Dilip, Ramesh, added Rama Rao.
