Ongole: Medical and Health Minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas, inaugurated the platelets machine set up on a budget of Rs 82.35 lakh at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Ongole.

The Minister said that the government was taking steps to provide healthcare on par with private hospitals. He appreciated Minister Siddha Raghavarao, MLA Damacharla Janardhanarao and Collector V Vinay Chand for taking special interest for the installation of the machine at RIMS.

He promised to take initiatives increase the number of seats in the RIMS Medical College. He advised private hospitals to confirm dengue only if the patients test positive in the Elisa test. He asked private hospitals to report confirmed dengue cases to the government hospital immediately.

The Minister appreciated the RIMS staff also for providing better healthcare, which caused a rise in the number of outpatients. He advised the local people’s representatives to visit RIMS often so that the services in RIMS would improve further.

MLA Damacharla Janardhanarao, MLA Karanam Balaram, MLC Pothula Suneetha, RIMS Committee Chairman Dr Seetharamaiah, RIMS director Dr Valliswari, DMHO Dr Rajyalakshmi, APVVP district coordinator Dr Usha and other doctors and staff from RIMS also participated in the inauguration.
