Eluru: Correspondent of Sir CR Reddy Autonomous College, US Ramprasad has announced here that the CRR Educational Institutions has decided to free conduct eye tests for poor students as part of the institution’s social service programmes.

The college NSS special camp valedictory meeting was held at Chodimella in Eluru rural mandal on Monday.

Addressing the meeting, Ramprasad said that the NSS volunteers conducted the activities in the village following which they conducted an awareness camp for addressing various issues among the villagers. He suggested the NSS-2 programme officer, N Srinivasa Rao to make necessary arrangements for the eye test in the government school.

He assured that spectacles would be provided to the students upon the ophthalmologist’s prescription. It has come to light from a survey that some houses had no individual toilets.

“The CRR institutions would provide free construction material and labor to construct toilets for the poor families. The only skill centre for the unemployed graduates is established in Sir CRR Engineering College and the college will impart training to the B Sc and B Com graduates on various skills until they are employed,” he said.

College Principal NVVS Prasad, Sarpanch T Prameeladevi, Village Secretary Lavanya participated in the meeting.
