Vijayawada: Aadhaar counters in some areas of the city have failed to deliver services such as registration and providing the updated details. While the counter at Head Post Office in One Town area is closed for transactions citing a software issue as the reason, another counter in Mee Seva at Cholera Hospital area specified server malfunction for stopping services.

Interestingly, some counters have been functioning normally. The Mee Seva counter beside Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium and the Aadhaar counter near Veterinary Hospital have been accepting only 100 applications each day.
As Aadhaar card has been made mandatory for something as unfussy as getting a new SIM card, many people have been flooding these counters with the hope of getting new cards or to make changes in the existing ones.

A mismatch between the number of applicants and the counters opened for Aadhaar services has been spotted, following which people, especially in One Town and Bhavanipuram have been facing multiple difficulties. The staff at the Head Post office said that the services would resume soon, once the existing software gets replaced with an update.

However, the officials are unable to provide an estimated date for the glitches to be resolved, forcing hundreds of people to return home without information. Similarly, the Mee Seva counter at the Cholera Hospital remains closed for Aadhaar card updates as the staff sends people with the pretext of the servers being down. Despite such Aadhaar kiosks failing to serve people, the authorities appear to be in deep slumber.
