Kakinada: District Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni, made it clear that their department is for the service of the public twenty-four seven.

He participated as chief guest at ‘Aayushman’ programme organised by the Medical and Health department. The programme was aimed exclusively to create awareness on nutrition among tribal pregnant women at Yedugurralapalli, a small hamlet in Chintur Revenue Division on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Gunni requested the tribal women to feel free to call any police official including him in case of an emergency or even for the medical service help. He further explained that their department Sub-Inspectors, Circle Inspectors and SDPOs at Chintoor division were ready to take pregnant tribal women in an emergency situation to the nearest government Primary Health Centre or to the government hospitals and no second thought will be given in this notion, he added.

He appreciated their department’s efforts on providing an ambulance for the tribal women. He also appreciated the auto union drivers of Chintur who came forward to provide free transportation of the pregnant women in the division.

Later, the SP distributed the NTR Baby Kits to the lactating mothers and presented the JSY (Jananee Suraksha Yojana) cheques to the pregnant women. He inaugurated an ambulance which was provided by the Chintur Police for the tribals. The SP, Gunni and Chinturu OSD Anbu Rajan had lunch with the pregnant women. Chintur ITDA PO Abhiskta Kishore, Chintur SDPO Dileep Kiran also spoke in the awareness meeting. Nearly 500 pregnant women participated in the awareness programme.
