Guntur: The police department is developing fingerprint identification technology to reduce crime rate. As a part of this programme, the Guntur Rural police district cops have been downloading the e-application in their mobile phones.

When they notice suspects in the city, they take fingerprints of the suspects and verify them with the fingerprints of the accused or criminals recorded in the computers. When the finger prints of the suspects matches with the criminal’s, they take suspects into custody. The police department used this system at Kotappakonda on the occasion of Kotappakonda Mahotsavalu and took seven persons into custody.

Later, they introduced this system in other places. This system is also being introduced in other districts.
