Speaking to ‘The Hans India’, the RMC Commissioner V Vijayarama Raju said that various stalls on footpath between Pushkar Ghat and Three-Town police station and in Subamanya Mydanam would be arranged reflecting tradition and culture.

Traditional food items such as Atreyapuram Pootarekulu, Gangaraju Kova, Kakinada Kajas, Tapeswaram Kajas, Ariselu, Bobbatlu, Pongadalu, Bangalore Rasagullah, Punjabi Rotis, Marvadi food items, coconut juice etc would be available in the stalls arranged in Subramanya Mydanam and on the footpath stalls, Jeellu, sugarcane drinks, small sweets etc would be available.

On Ugadi day (Sunday) from 7 am to 9 am, special cultural programmes along with socio and folk dances would be arranged at Pushkar Ghat. From 9.30 am to 11 am, Nadaswaram, Panchanga Patanam, welcome dance etc would be held.

From 11 am to 11.30 am a traditional dance programme in the name of Vasantha Lakshmi, for the youth of above 16 years, followed by some programmes for the children in the age group of 3 to 11 years in the name of Vasantha Bala programme, from 11.30 am to 1 pm various skits and other programmes, from 3 pm to 4 pm rangoli competitions to women in Subramanya Mydanam would be held. Moreover, Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Kalyanotsavam would also be held at Pushkar Ghat by Annavaram Temple management at 5 pm.

As many as 15 teams were constituted to supervise all the programmes. He appealed to the people to participate in Ugadi festival on a large scale.
