Meet on SCS flays TDP, BJP
The meeting of Pratyeka Hoda, Vibhajana Haameela Sadhana Samiti has called upon the people to participate in the road blockade programme of national highway in Eluru on Thursday, demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) and the implementation of assurances given under AP Reorganisation Act.

The Samiti meeting was held at UTF office here on Wednesday. The Samiti leaders, Chintakayala Babu Rao (CPM), Dega Prabhakar (CPI), Badda Venkatrao (CPI-ML- New Democracy), P Sagar Babu (Jana Sena), Vankayala Ramakrishna (Merchants Chamber of Commerce and Industry) addressed the meeting.
The leaders alleged that the TDP and BJP governments had betrayed the Andhra Pradesh people in regard to the SCS and assurances. The leaders lamented that the BJP was playing drama in Parliament by not allowing discussions on no-confidence motion. They warned that they would fight against the Centre on SCS.
They criticised that the TDP had now raised the SCS issue as the elections were nearing for the state.The leaders said that the Samiti would take up the road blockade at ASRAM Hospital on national highway.
Nekkanti Subba Rao (CPI), P Kaniki Reddy (Jute Karmika Samakhya), P Adiseshu, P Kishore, G Siva Kumar, Ch Bhagath (CPM), P Ravi Kumar, Mavuri Srinivasa Rao (CITU), P Kannababu (CPI), Jalla Harikrishna, Babi (Jana Sena Party) also participated.
