Kakinada: Sarpavaram police, acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni arrested a fraudster at Nagamalli Thota Junction. The accused created a fake account on Facebook to trap innocent high profile female students. Kakinada SDPO Ravi Varma and Sarpavaram Circle Inspector of Police Chaitanya Krishna arranged a press meet at the Sarpavaram Police Station and revealed the details here on Thursday.

While producing the fraudster, Swamireddy Srinivasa Rao (28), before the media, they said that he belongs to Uppada village and was studying LLB at the Rajiv Gandhi Law College in Kakinada.

They told that the accused used the fake account to interact with high profile girl students who were studying engineering, medicine and agricultural B Sc. The police said that he compelled his female friends on FaceBook to marry him.

He threatened the friends to post their chat history and morphed photos on facebook and other online platforms. They said that Srinivasa Rao even cheated a minor girl at Visakhapatnam and shot a nude video of her. He also stole two motorcycles from two female students.
