Kakinada: The activists of Hindu Dharma Rakshana Samiti staged a dharna at Kakinada Urban MRO office on Monday, expressing resentment over house arrest of their president Cheduluri Gavarayya.
The police imposed house arrest of its president by issuing notice under 151 CRPC. The Samiti activists planned a march to Vijayawada, to protest at the TV channel, which organised a debate on Lord Rama a few days ago.
The activists demanded that the police withdraw the house arrest order issued by Kakinada 3-Town police on Sunday.
The Samiti activists said that the police foiled their march to Vijayawada on Monday to protest at the channel, as the channel conducted a debate damaging the Hindu sentiments and disrespecting Lord Rama.
