Anantapuramu: In protest against the pelting of stones against the APNGOs who went to Hyderabad for attending the ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’ rally on Saturday, the supporters of Samaikyandhra including students and members of the YSR Congress Party took out a peaceful rally from the Clock Tower to the Sapthagiri circle. Protests were also organized in Kadiri, Raidurg, Hindupuram, Gorantla, Madakashira, Uravakanda, Kalyandurgam, Guntakal, Tadipatri and Shinganamala.
On the 38th day of the Samaikyandhra movement in the city on Saturday, employees belonging to the public and private sector, students, agricultural labourers came out on the streets and held protest demonstrations against the bifurcation of the State. They appealed to the UPA government not to do injustice to them by dividing the State.
The members of JACTO registered their protest in a novel way by hanging themselves. Speaking to the media, they said that the farmers, students and employees of the Seemandhra region would be badly hit if the State was divided.
In another incident, Sumanth, a supporter of Samaikyandhra hanged himself upside down from a crane to resister his protest. In Penugonda, a huge raly was taken out holding black umbrellas and raising slogans in favour of Samaikyandra.
