The Indian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association (IRMRA), affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, inaugurated a state-of-the-art material and product testing lab in Sri City on Thursday.

Tirupati: The Indian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association (IRMRA), affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, inaugurated a state-of-the-art material and product testing lab in Sri City on Thursday.

IRMRA President and GRP Ltd MD Rajendra V Gandhi has inaugurated the laboratory in the presence of IRMRA Director Dr Rajkumar, members of council and staff. Speaking on the occasion, Gandhi said that they have decided to locate the laboratory in Sri City as it has excellent facilities, friendly facilitators, and ease of doing business promoted by AP government.

He exuded confidence of IRMRA’s presence in Sri City will facilitate all its clients in the automobile, tyre and rubber manufacturing sectors, located in the Southern part of the country. Commenting on the occasion, Sri City founder & Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy has expressed optimism of IRMRA’s expertise in testing, failure investigation, research and development, etc., will immensely benefit the automobile industries and ancillary units located in Sri City region, which is emerging as a potential auto hub in the country.

The lab, which was set up at an initial investment of Rs 25 crore, is equipped with a host of material and product testing facilities. The facility will employ 20 persons, and within two years the staff strength will go up to 100. Besides this, facility will create indirect job opportunity for 1,000 people under supply chain. IRMRA's clientele includes some of the technical R&D establishments of central and state governments and public undertaking organisations.
