Tanuku: Former MLA Chitturi Venkateswara Rao said with the Malaysia-based AXALT Group sponsoring Tanuku Football Club (TFC), the game of football in the district will be developed in the coming years.
He released the poster of Football League of West Godavari (FLOW)-2016 contest, TFC T-shirts at Lions Club Hall here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the people to participate in the contest to win prizes worth Rs 50,000.
The FLOW CEO Kummarikunta Rajesh said FLOW has been formed to develop the game of football in the State. He said Flow would conduct 18 league matches from January 2 to 14 in six towns of West Godavari district, adding that three matches would be conducted on Tanuku Government Degree College grounds.
The FLOW CEO said the AXALT began its operations in India this year in various fields including IT, engineering, infrastructure and cinema. The Lions Club district president G H Prasada Rao said FLOW will provide a platform for talented sportsmen in the State.
The Lions Club former president Kadiyala Suryanarayana presided over the meeting. Tanuku Football Club coordinators Damera Rangarao, Kolamuri Nagabhushanam, Akula Venkateswara Rao, D H Srihariraju and others were present.
