TTD EO seeks action plan for beautification of tanks
Tirupati: TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao directed the officials to submit an action plan covering the 100 tanks which were proposed for development as part of the beautification of Tirupati area as a lake city, within a week.

Sambasiva on Friday held a meeting with the officials of Tirupati Municipal Corporation, TUDA, Forest, Irrigation and Transco on the development of the 100 tanks which was entrusted to the TTD as per the directions of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Rao setup a committee with officials drawn from TTD, Tourism, Forest and Irrigation departments. He asked the committee members to inspect all the tanks personally before preparing the action plan. He wanted them to draw a check list duly identifying the works to be taken up for development of tanks.
In this connection, the TTD EO directed the officials to leave the village deities, if any, at the tank areas untouched respecting the sentiments of the people of the villages.
“Take up the task of strengthening the bunds and massive tree plantations in all the tanks, followed by laying of walking tracks,’’ he said seeking the officials to involve the villagers also in the tank development works. TTD Chief Engineer Ch Chandrasekhar Reddy and others were present.
