Implement free sand policy in true spirit: Botcha
YSRCP on Saturday demanded the State government to frame guidelines for the sand policy to make it more transparent. Addressing media persons here, senior leader of the party Botcha Satyanarayana said that sand would be given free of cost to poor should be implemented in true spirit and guidelines should be framed to clear the bottlenecks.

“The new sand policy should not be turned into another money earning source for TDP cadre,” he said. Botcha alleged that sand mafia has been minting money with TDP party cadre running the syndicate. “The government increased the rate of sand from Rs 60 to Rs 500 per cubic metre but the hike was not reflected in the government accounts, which shows the large scale corruption.
The government’s decision to supply sand at free of cost to the poor, vindicates our stand that sand mafia has been looting public money,” the YSRCP leader added.
