Vijayawada: Accused No.3 in call money case Chennupati Srinivasa Rao alias Srinu surrendered at the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the city on Monday.

Subsequently, police filed a custody petition in order to question him over the issue. Court ordered judicial remand until March 11.

Srinu, who was accused of blackmailing women under the call money scam, was absconding since December 11. He along with six others lent money to the needy and allegedly asked women for sexual favors in return.

The Machavaram police registered a case against Srinu, who is brother of a former legislator. However, since the case came to light, he was absconding.

Another accused in the case Venigalla Srikanth is yet to be traced by the police. Cases were booked against Srinu on charges of rape, blackmail and others sections.
