25 selected for Ugadi Puraskarams
The District Cultural Council announced the Ugadi awards for 25 eminent personalities for their contribution in different fields. Each Ugadi Puraskar winner will receive a cash award of Rs 10,116, a citation and a shawl on April 8 at YMHA Hall. Ministers P Sujatha and P Manikyala Rao will participate as chief guests at the programme.

The Ugadi Puraskar winners are: P B Parabrahmam of Penugonda, Challa Suryarao of Unguturu, Gorthi Muralikrishna Sidhanthi of Eluru, Singuluri Bapiraju of Kovvuru and Gadiraju China Appalaraj of Pedakapavaram under mythical actors category.
Music: Ammanamanchi Balaramasastry of Tadepalligudem for Carnatic music.
Dance: Javvadi Yamini Narasambika of Tanuku and Budhadev of Eluru (Kuchipudi dance).
Drama: Pallapothu Radhakrishna of Eluru, T Venkateswara Rao of Palacole, Kadali Venkata Narasimharao of Pedamamidipalli, LR Krishnababu of Jangareddigudem, Raja Tatayya of Palacole (drama director), Vempatapu Venkata Satyanarayana of Iragavaram (artiste), Vinnakota Venkateswara Rao of Palacole (social drama) and Manapuram Satyanarayana of Palacole (verse drama).
Literature & poetry: AJS Ramareddy of Tanuku (poet and writer), Yalamarthi Anuradha of Tanuku (writer), Tenneti Lakshmi Narasimhamurthy of Ganapavaram (poetry) and Gunda Venkata Subba Rao of Bhimavaram (playwright).
Folk arts: T Manikumari of Tadepalligudem (Harikatha), KK Raju of Tadepalligudem (Tabla) and Dampuri Narayanarao of Tanuku (actor).
Other fields: Dr Vamanananda of Eluru (social service) and K Srinivas of Eluru (magic).
