11 women hurt as bus overturns
Injured women were immediately shifted to private and government hospitals in Gudur and Kota mandals. They were working for the GVR Prawns Industry located at Chittedu in Kota mandal.
Nellore: Eleven women sustained severe injuries when a mini bus rammed into farm fields and overturned at Kammavaripalem in Chillakur mandal on Wednesday night. Majority women, who have received injuries, belong to Gudur rural mandal.
Injured women were immediately shifted to private and government hospitals in Gudur and Kota mandals. They were working for the GVR Prawns Industry located at Chittedu in Kota mandal.
The company-owned bus was carrying 23 women to drop them off at native villages in Gudur and Chillakur mandals. The bus driver Bhaskar had applied sudden brakes at Kammavaripalem in Chillakur mandal to avoid a speeding motorist, who was coming in the opposite direction.
Due to the impact, the bus rammed into farm fields and overturned. Bus driver was also hurt severely in the accident. He and two women were shifted to a hospital in Nellore for better medical treatment. Chillakur police registered a case and took up the investigation.
