Hyderabad: Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas opined that it would have been better for AP had Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao been entrusted with the responsibility of drafting the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Srinivas is a nominee of the BJP in the AP Cabinet as the TDP has an alliance with that party. He made these comments during a news conference here on Thursday, accusing the Congress party of intentional injustice while dividing the State. He was responding to the Private Member’s Bill moved by Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao on Special Status to the State.

The Minister lampooned the Congress’ claim of championing the cause of securing Special Status. “The UPA government, led by the Congress, had enacted a drama during the passage of the Bifurcation Bill. But it did not incorporate it in the Act. In fact, it would have been better had the Congress left it to KCR to draft the Bill instead,” he said.

The Minister also came down heavily on YSRCP, accusing it of playing politics with the lives of students. He refuted the allegations that the Eamcet medical stream question papers had been leaked in AP and advised them not to whip up passions on a sensitive issue.
