Kakinada: The Kakinada Atmagauravam meeting of Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan on Friday was more focused as compared to his recent meeting at Tirupati. Pawan Kalyan declared an all-out war against BJP and TDP.

Though he made it clear that he was ready to fight the BJP and TDP during his one-hour speech, Pawan mainly targeted the BJP government and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

  • Declares all-out war against TDP, BJP
  • Rejects Jaitley’s package lock, stock and barrel
  • “TDP committed many mistakes. I kept quiet because it is facing many problems due to bifurcation. TDP government should wake up now,” he thundered
  • “Show me Happy Days,” asks Modi
  • Rouses Seemandhra pride by stating north India insensitive towards south
  • Praising Left-wing parties, he said he would like to work with them
  • Asks TDP to sever ties with BJP and reject the package

While stating that there were no ‘Happy Days’ anywhere in the reckoning under Modi’s rule, Pawan said the Union government after creating massive hype about extending an helping hand to AP had finally handed over two rotten ‘laddus’, referring to the special package.

Asking the TDP to reject such laddus lock, stock and barrel, he asked Naidu to sever ties with BJP. During the last two-and-a-half years TDP had committed many mistakes but he was silent because the state was facing several problems following bifurcation. “Any one with self respect will not bow before the Centre,” he said.

Indicating his future political plans, Pawan expressed his willingness to go with the left-wing parties. While praising the CPM for taking a clear stand that it was opposed to bifurcation of the state, he said Jana Sena would plan to work with the left.

Pawan, who had sharpened his political attack this time, took pot shots at some TDP leaders like Avanti Srinivas MP.

He said, “Srinivas need not resign to send me to Parliament. If he is sincere about achieving SCS, then he should resign for the sake of people and prove his sincerity. The Jana Sena will then take up the responsibility of ensuring his victory if he contests again and I will campaign for him.”

Referring to the comment made by TDP Rajya Sabha MP T G Venkatesh after his Tirupati meeting, Pawan said that he need not learn political lessons from him.

The industries owned by TG Venkatesh were causing lot of environmental pollution. “I can talk a lot about him, but for the present,” he said, “his focus was on the problems being faced by the people.” He said if the TDP feels that it cannot get special status, then the Jana Sena would show how to achieve it.

In an emotion-packed speech, Pawan said the BJP which passed the Kakinada resolution on one vote two states and the Congress party which had announced its decision to bifurcate the state in 2004 had never bothered to work out what the residuary state would get.

Rousing the Seemandhra pride, Pawan said his fight was against the “Egoistic” attitude of north towards the south. The two national parties BJP and Congress never bothered to visit AP and apologise to the people for having caused so many problems, he said.

Referring to the style of speeches made by Venkaiah Naidu, Pawan said that before elections he spoke in a language that even people in remote areas could understand.

But now when the real issue of SCS has cropped up, he was using technical terms which the common man does not understand. “What we would like to know clearly is will you or will you not give special catetory status to AP,” Pawan said.

“Venkaiah Garu, I am very angry with your policies. It is time for you to stand up and fight for the people of the state. If you fail to do so, people will blame you for going back on your promises. It is time to give up opportunistic politics,” he suggested.

Calling upon all political parties to stop enacting drama, he said he would enter the scene if they fail. “I don’t believe in enacting drama and I know how to achieve our goals,” he said.

Pawan was also unhappy with the national media. He said when the grand children of Finance Minister visit Parliament, it becomes national news but the sufferings of the people of Andhra Pradesh never get reflected there.
