Nellore: A woman, native of Kavali in Nellore district, who was residing in Las Vegas accidentally fell in a lake and died on Wednesday. Gogineni Priyanka Chowdary, 25, completed here B.Tech from Jagriti Engineering College in Hyderabad and pursued her MS in Washington. She subsequently joined a company a month ago.

On Tuesday, according to her uncle G Subbarao who resides at Chevurivari Thota in Kavali town, she went to morning walk close to Hicks lake located in Lacey, Washington area, and tried to collect some flowers on the bank of the lake. She accidentally fell down and died.

There was another version that she had tried for swimming and drowned in water. Her family members also denied any suicide attempt or any possible criminal activity.

The Thurston County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Wednesday of Priyanka who was found dead in Hicks Lake in Lacey. The body was traced at about 7:30 a.m. on the day by a man preparing to launch his boat at 2800 Hicks Lake Road SE.

Priyanka’s friend Mani Pothepalli informed North America Telugu Society and requested their support for sending her body to India. Her parents Gogineni Venkata Rao and mother Saraswathi were previously residing in Gudlur in Prakasam district and they relocated to Kavali town recently.
