Visakhapatnam: Twenty one tribals, including women, who underwent cataract surgeries at Sankar Foundation Hospital here on October 20, came to the District Rural Police office here on Sunday to thank Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma and higher-ups for their gesture in helping the poor tribals.

The rural police as part of their community service programme Darsini, organised a free medical eye camp in association with Sankar Foundation at Pedavalasa in the Agency on October 14 where over 200 people were screened under the supervision of Additional SP (Operations) Attada Babuji and local police personnel.

Of them, 21 were identified for surgeries and 10 for spectacles. The persons screened for surgeries were brought to Sankar Foundation Hospital on October 20, along with their family members, where the surgeries were carried out successfully. The other 10 persons were also given spectacles.
