Rajamahendravaram: A mega job mela is going to be hosted in the city on December 16 and 17 in which more than 75 companies would be participating. NTR Trust and Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary would be organising the mela with the support of the State government’s VIKAS programme.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Gorantla said the job mela would be held at two venues: Arts College grounds and SKVT Degree College and the event would start at 8 am in the morning. He said that more than 16 thousand qualified youth are expected to turn up for the event and added that participating companies included Cognizant, Infosys, HCL, IBM Payroll, Techno Vert, Win-IT, Google (Global Logic), GMR, Reliance, etc.

He further said that the compensation packages could range from Rs 1.4 lakh to Rs2.8 lakh per anum and the selected candidates would have to work anywhere in the country. The age limit for the candidates is between 20 to 35 years subject to the requirements of the company. The MLA said that in a first for any job mela, all participating companies have been asked to provide prior training to willing candidates on December 12, 13 and 14 on handling interviews, group discussions and spoken English.

MLC Adireddy Apparao said that conducting a job mela on such a large scale was not an easy task and promised to extend his complete cooperation for the event. Mayor P Rajani Sesha Sai and Municipal Commissioner V Vijayaramaraju said the Municipal Corporation would provide drinking water and other amenities during the event. Ganni Krishna, State TDP organising secretary also spoke.
