Eluru: The Andhra Pradesh Township Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTIDCO) has decided to construct wholesale malls (shopping complexes) beside the National Highway in Eluru.

The APTIDCO vice chairman V Ramanath urged the collector to sanction 300 acres of the site for the shopping mall at Eluru with a cost of Rs.600 crores.

The vice chairman met district Collector K Bhaskar at Collector office on Wednesday and discussed on the shopping complex issue. V Ramanath had told the Collector that the Chief Minister had directed to set up the malls near Eluru area.

Following his directions, the vice chairman said to have requested the Collector to allot 300 acres of the site near bypass road at Smart City area.

Ramanath stated that he toured Russia and other countries and found people travelling in 900 to 1000 buses everyday to purchase needy items in the wholesale malls.

The APDITCO vice chairman said that West Godavari is his native district and he will feel happy if the mall established in Eluru.

The Collector K Bhaskar said that there is no government land of 300 acres in the district but assured that he will try to acquire under Smart City purview.

Collector hailed the decision of setting up of wholesale malls in Eluru.
