Visakhapatnam: Detection of Pilferage of Energy (DPE) wing of Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited of Andhra Pradesh (APEPDCL) conducted special raids and inspections on commercial and industrial services following the instructions of Chairman and Managing Director M M Nayak.

The special squad comprising all DPE divisions of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmahendravaram and Eluru under the limits of EPDCL, along with vigilance staff, conducted the raids under the supervision of Chief Vigilance Officer D N Kishore and superintending engineer R S V Krishna Mohan Rao.

The inspections were conducted at Nandigama, Santhabommali, Ranastalam, Veeragattam, G Sigadam, Srikakulam rural, Gara, Narasannapet rural and Rajam sub-division under the limits of Srikakulam operation circle and at Narasapuram rural, Yelamanchili, Mogalturu and Narasapuram sub-division under the limits of Eluru operation circle on Tuesday.

A total of 409 services were inspected and imposed a fine of Rs 10.71 lakh on the defaulters after booking 95 cases. Chief general manager (operations) P V V Sathyanarayana appealed to the public to inform to the APEPDCL if anybody is found indulging in the pilferage of energy to the mobile No: 9440812809 and the details of the informer will not be revealed and kept confidential.
