Guntur: State government for the first time in the State constructed two model police stations in Guntur city on the lines of corporate houses to render better services to the people.

While one police station is constructed at Police Parade grounds at Nagarampalem and another one is being constructed at Old Guntur Police station. The police officials are using modern technology to provide better services to the people.

All the rooms in the model police stations are air conditioned and WiFi facility will be provided soon along with posh furniture and state-of-the-art facilities.

A Circle Inspector and two Sub-Inspectors will be posted in the model police stations. The police department is constructing model police stations in the State capital on pilot basis with a view to provide better services to people.

The top officials in the police department are feeling that if better facilities are provided, the performance of the police personnel will improve.

The government constructed model police stations each at a cost of Rs. 1 crore. They will have CC cameras and other state-of-the-art facilities.

The Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao has invited the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to inaugurate the model police stations. The CM is expected to inaugurate the model police stations within a week along with Home Minister N Chinarajappa.

DGP N Sambasiva Rao has already announced that they will post the officials who will do dedicated service in the model police stations to get name and fame to the department.

The government has a proposal to develop at least ten model police stations in all districts in the State during the first phase. Later, they will develop some more model police stations. He said is waiting for CMs date to inaugurate the model police stations.

The South Coastal Zone Guntur Range Inspector general of police N.Sanjay today inspected the model police station buildings with Guntur urban S.P. Sarva Sresta Tripati. He instructed the officials to complete the finishing the work.

It may be mentioned that the government has already constructed a police station with modern facilities in Chilakaluripet after Maoists attack on the police station in 2005.

The police station is having three layer security system. As soon as one persons entered the police station, his picture is visible in the closed circuit cameras in the police station.

The police cops posted in the police station is having modern weapons to face Maoists attacks. Cops will stand on the top of the police station and keep vigilance on the movements of the people in the town.
