Amaravati: In a new mile stone for state government, the plans for administrative city in Amaravati are almost finalised. The designs for administrative capital which to be constructed in 900 acres were displayed to legislators.

UK-based Norman + Partners, which is architect for Amaravati capital prepared the designs. As per the plans, the two iconic buildings Assembly and High Court would be constructed in the administrative city apart from commercial zone.

The administrative city would be constructed as Blue and Green city. As much as 56 per cent of 900 acres would be allotted for greenery including parks.

Likewise, 14 per cent of the area is earmarked for water bodies. Interestingly water taxies also would be available in tourism attraction plans. Driverless Rapid Public Transportation System, cycling and walking tracks are given priority for pollution-free public transportation ways.

The traffic system design is based on the increasing traffic and pollution in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru cities. The internal roads would be laid amd like London, squares and places would be provided for public convenience. The distance from Assembly to CM’s residence, officials and MLAs quarters would be one kilometer.

An estimated quantity of 0.8 tmc ft of water will be collected from Palavagu and remaining will be taken from Krishnariver. The planners preferred the pollution-free, spacious roads in the designs. The architects exhibited the building designs and local heritage and vaastu.

Company representative Harsha Thapper, CRDA principal secretary Ajay Jain, commissioner Ch Sridhar also explained the details of designs. On this occasion, Ajay Jain said that foundation stone for internal roads in Amaravati capital would be laid on the occasion of Ugadi.
