Vijayawada: The Zilla Parishad Highs School (ZPHS) students, teachers and School Management Committees (SMC) launched a novel door-to-door campaign for enrollment of students in the Government High Schools explaining the benefits of the education in the government- run schools.This type of publicity is continuing in all the villages of Krishna district as per the directive of the School Education Department's new programme 'Amma Vodi'.

The campaign is being conducted on par with the private schools, corporate school managements. The state government has introduced the programme ‘Amma Vodi’ to attract the parents.Teachers and schoolchildren are displaying a banner describing fee, books, uniform, van fee and others expenses and showing comparison between the government and private schools.Private schools are collecting about Rs 53,000 per year in the name of school fee, uniform, books, van fee, sports, digital classes et al.

But, the government schools students need not pay a single paisa for education, they said.Moreover, they are explaining that the government schools are having qualified and trained teachers and they were appointed by the state government while the private school teachers have not sufficient qualification and not trained. Zilla Parisahd High School Nunna staff secretary and art teacher Vasireddy Venkateswra Rao said that the state government is providing pure drinking water to students for which the local people’s representatives and donors are giving support.

The state government providing digital class rooms, he said. Under the supervision of head master weekly and monthly tests are being conducted for the students regularly, he added. “Students and teachers’ campaign evoked good response from parents and several parents came forward and giving their consent for joining their wards in the government schools,” said Vijayawada Rural Mandal Educational Officer G Jaya Babu.
