Tirupati: The Medical Council of India (MCI) has recognised the MD-Radiology course in SVIMS and gave permission to increase the number of seats to seven from this academic year, said Dr TS Ravi Kumar, Director-cum-Vice-Chancellor, SVIMS. He congratulated the Radiology department HoD Dr AY Lakshmi and other faculty on the occasion. He also thanked the MCI for increasing the seats.
The Radiology department is extending modern diagnostic service to the patients with modern equipment. For the benefit of rural women cancer patients, the SVIMS will soon start a mobile unit with mammography facility. Cancer diagnostic tests can be done in the mobile unit, said Ravi Kumar.
