Hyderabad: The Jana Sena Party led by actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan is keen jump on to the joint action committee (JAC) led by Left-wing parties and is willing to extend his support for any public cause.

The Jana Sena, which is still in the process of recruiting party activists, is likely to become politically active in Telangana after October. It feels that joining hands with the left-wing parties would be advantageous to gain foothold in this part.

This issue was discussed in detail during a 40-minute meeting CPI(M) state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram had with Pawan on Thursday. Pawan is said to have sought the details of the experiences of Veerabhadram’s padyatra and the people’s issues that had come to his notice.

However, Pawan was non-committal with regard to the issue of electoral alliance. Veerabhadram told The Hans India that Pawan stated that he would discuss the alliance issue within the party first and then take a decision later. He also felt that he and the left-wing leaders should have more such meetings.

In the meantime, he expressed his willingness to go with the left-wing parties on public issues like shifting of dharna chowk. Pawan announced that his party activists would participate in the proposed dharna on May 15

Referring to his recent comments on North treating people from South as second class citizens, Pawan said that he was not against the people of North. He was pained at certain comments made by some central ministers which amounts to sort of racial discrimination.

He said that it is unfortunate the people of North have very little knowledge about the history, culture, language and literature of South. He told the left-wing leaders that he was contemplating forming a cultural association consisting of personalities from South Indian film industry to promote the richness of southern culture, language, literature and art forms.
