Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed collectors to complete the target of LPG connections under Deepam scheme by June first week. He said that state would become kerosene-free, if LPG connections were given to all weaker sections.

Addressing collectors’ conference in Vijayawada on Thursday, the Chief Minister informed that Deepam melas were held in village and LPG connections were given to eligible poor. He stated that there were instances of allotting 10,000 connections in a single day.

Calling for the need to make state kerosene-free, we will achieve the goal by giving LPG connections to all and if necessary will gradually decrease kerosene quota. Later, the Chief Minister has released a new mobile application – Plantix (www.plantix.net/download/te) in the presence of ICRISAT director general David J Bergwinson.
