Vijayawada: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) state-level meeting demanded that the state government pay Rs 2, 000 per month as unemployment allowance to unemployed youth until they get jobs. The DYFI meeting urged that the state government would frame rules and regulations and other modalities for implementing unemployment benefits.

DYFI state-level meeting was held at Makineni Basavapunnaiah Vignana Kendram (MBVK) here on Saturday. Former MLC KS Lakshmana Rao was the chief guest and suggested that youth should fight for filling up of vacant posts in various departments and for getting unemployment benefits. Due to lack of government jobs even highly educated candidates are applying for constable and bank assistants jobs though they these were not suitable for them, he felt.

The former MLC further stated that the ruling TDP government has failed to fulfil the election manifesto even three years after coming to power.

The TDP had assured before the polls that the TDP government would fill 1.42 lakh vacant posts in the state after coming to power, but failed to fulfil the promise, he added.Qualified teacher candidates are eagerly waiting for DSC notification.
