Vijayawada/Guntur: Dr T M Thomas Issac, CPM Central committee member and Kerala Minister for Finance, on Sunday expressed concern over Nazi-like attacks on Muslims and Christians by RSS ideologues who penetrated into every aspect of Indian lives during the three-year NDA rule.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Communalism and Challenges’ here, Dr Thomas accused NDA of bringing policies that have hidden agenda. Referring to fresh GST, he said the Modi government tried to benefit corporate firms at the cost of small traders. To explain how the rich were helped, he referred to tax on textiles.

While the petty traders have to pay 18 per cent tax to purchase raw material from corporates like Reliance, they have to pay another five per cent while selling the finished products. He pointed out that Reliance like corporate companies which have their own textile business get a combined benefit of 23 per cent taxation. On the contrary, small traders would suffer heavy losses, he added.

Stating that the NDA was sneaking into every aspect of lives of the poor, he informed that all the indicators point at elimination of Muslims and Christians. Modi had showed to the world how to liquidate Muslims in communal carnage and wanted to implement the same procedure to end them nationwide.

The RSS groups had taken ‘holy cow’ into the centre stage to incite the communal feelings among majority in the country. Referring to cattle census beginning from the British Raj, he said that bullocks were being used for ploughing in agriculture fields while cows would be sold after their lactating period was over.

Even though that was the reality, the RSS was making ‘holy cow’ an issue without allowing people to think on the real purpose of cows after they become old.

Stressing on planned approach to keep RSS out of power and to keep the country safe and free from attacks on minorities, Dr Thomas explained various measures taken in Kerala by them.

The Kerala government had provided health insurance to all, education free of cost and other things to prevent RSS from entering into the State. He informed the gathering that Hindu Sena had asked the police in Guntur district to prevent him from participating in a seminar scheduled for Sunday evening in Guntur.

It shows how RSS and its other outfits were afraid of Communists, he added.CPM State secretary P Madhu presided. CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna was also present. Thomas Issac later addressed a conference in Guntur.
