New Nellore SP takes charge
PHD Ramakrishna took charges as new Superintendent of Police (SP) at District Police Office (DPO) here on Monday. He worked previously as the SP of Kadapa district and the government has recently posted him to Nellore.

Speaking to the media after taking charge, Ramakrishna said that they would take stern action against the sand mafia and red sanders smuggling activities in the district. He also said that they would take up policing in a friendly manner. Measures would also be taken to resolve traffic issues in the city after examining the present situation, the SP said.
Ramakrishna also explained that they had formed Traffic Advisory Committees in Kadapa district earlier and succeeded in the efforts to bail out from traffic problems there with active co-operation of public and government authorities.
He also said that they would maintain law and order efficiently in the district besides taking action against the rampant red sanders smuggling activities. Later, he met District Collector R Mutyala Raju formally and interacted with him about the pressing issues in the district. Senior police officials also accompanied the new SP.
