Addicted to the narcotic, the youth are spoiling their lives putting full stop to their education. With many colleges mushrooming in the city, the mafia targeted the city to expand its activities. The narcotic drug trade has become a source of livelihood for some tens of families in the city.
According to BC Sangham leader Narasimha, first and foremost mafia teams enter the fray to make students familiarise with the narcotic. If the students want the same kick they have to spend at least Rs 100 for a dose. The mafia bypassing the security agencies stocks the ganja in various houses in smaller quantities. The Joharapuram in the city became the hunting ground for the mafia.
Excise Circle Inspector Padmavati said selling of ganja targeting youth on the city outskirts came to their notice. She said that raids would be conducted on peddlers of ganja on pucca information. She asked parents and elders in families to keep an eye on the activities of the children. If there is any change in food habits, it should be spotted and physician
consulted.
Now, the ball is in the Excise and police court in apprehending the culprits as The Hans India did its duty of exposing the activities of ganja mafia indicating their probable operational base.
