Dial 1098 to report on human trafficking
District Collector Kartikeya Mishra called upon the people to dial 1098 in case of illegal transportation of women and children.
Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra called upon the people to dial 1098 in case of illegal transportation of women and children.
At a meeting on illegal trafficking at Vidhana Gautami at the Collectorate here on Thursday, the Collector directed all the officials to campaign about this emergency number in the district.
He also directed the revenue, police and ICDS officials to coordinate with each other and take appropriate measures accordingly.
He ordered all the officials to display ‘1098’ number boards in RTC bus stands, railway stations and also in police stations. Mishra requested the public to call on toll-free helpline numbers ‘1100’ for public grievance and ‘1098’ for illegal trafficking of women and children. He also instructed the officials to establish a help desk at every RTC bus stand.
Additional joint collector Radha Krishna Murthy, PD ICDS Sharada Devi, UNICEF coordinator Suhasini, DM&HO Chandrayya, district child welfare officer Venkata Rao and GMR representative Sudhakar participated.
