Tirumala: A Telangana devotee named Rathod Govind Rao (47) went missing at Tirumala hill shrine two days back.
His family members lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday. Police traced the missing person’s mobile phone signal at Dharmagiri forest area on Tirumala Hills.

Based on the cell phone signal, the police at the hill shrine started searching for him on Friday morning. Rathod Govind Rao from Adilabad district came here for Srivari darshan along with his family members. Reportedly, two days ago Govind Rao went missing after he had darshan of the Lord.

After making a vain bid to search him, the family members lodged a complaint at Tirumala Two Town police station on Thursday. Following the complaint, Two Town CI Venkat Ravi registered a case under 103/17.

Finally, police tracked down Govind Rao’s mobile phone signal and are trying to trace the location through a nearby tower. Police identified that a person was making rounds in the forest area as he could not find the right path.

They deployed additional special armed parties and civilian defence force of Tirumala for the searching operation to trace Govind Rao at Dharmagiri forest. From morning to evening, these forces have been conducting search operations in the forest. However, on Friday evening they could not get the cell phone signal. Due to the technical problem, police forces have been facing difficulties in searching.

Speaking to the media, Two Town CI Venkat Ravi said that police are making efforts to trace the missing person. He hoped that the police would be able to trace him on Saturday.
