Surveillance beefed up in temple city
The state Independence Day celebrations venue - Sri Venkateswara University Stadium - is now under tight security blanket. Tirupati: The state Independence Day celebrations venue - Sri Venkateswara University Stadium - is now under tight security blanket. Tirupati urban police has made elaborate security arrangements for the celebrations to be held on August 15 here. On August 15, CM N Chandrababu Naidu and other ministers in the cabinet apart from invited VIPs and students numbering more than 6000 will attend the I-Day celebrations.

DIG Anantapur Range J Prabhakar Rao has been camping for last three days at Tirupati for overseeing I-Day security arrangements.Urban police is going to use more than 1000 police personnel for security arrangements at SVU stadium. Armed police, Greyhounds, intelligence personnel have already been positioned in allotted duties at venue area. Similarly police using high end technology cameras for security arrangements.
All ready total 32 numbers high resolution face identification cameras were installed for surveillance in the in and around of stadium, galleries, stalls, parade grounds, parking areas, at exit and entry points. These cameras are connected with city main police command control centre through wireless technology.
In this connection police have been conducting continues cordon searches in the city and nabbed few suspected characters. Police conducted advanced security liaison (ASL) on Saturday from Renigunta International Airport to I-Day celebrations venue Tirupati at SVU stadium. CMO security personnel also inspected the venue and advised few changes to police officials. Police dog squads are checking continuously in venue area and VVIP travel roads in entire city.
As far as security arrangements are concerned Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty speaking to The Hans India said that “ we are making elaborate security arrangements for the prestigious state level I-D celebrations to be held by the government here. The entire city is in our surveillance our cops are deployed at every important place. We have designed VIP route map and general public route diversion indications for smooth traffic flow in the city up to I-Day celebrations”, added SP Mohanty.
