Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government would build gated community houses for poor in the temple city with all ultra-modern facilities in two years. Inaugurating 564 IHSDP houses built with a cost of Rs 15.6 crore for homeless poor at here on Monday, the Chief Minister said the government will take all required steps to make Tirupati as ‘smart city.’ He promised double bedroom houses to be constructed for all eligible poor in Tirupati.

In next 6 months, the government will construct 6,350 houses under IHSDP Scheme. Naidu announced new Vikuntmala highway project for better connectivity to Tirumala via Tirupati city.

Earlier the Chief Minister has handed over the new house keys to beneficiaries at Avilala Venkatadri colony built by MCT. In the programme, Collector PS Pradyumna, MCT Commissioner C Harikiran, Chittoor MP N Sivaprasad, Tirupati MLA M Suguna, TUDA Chairman Narasimhayadhav and party leaders were present.

ACB and Intelligence offices inaugurated

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated three office buildings of Police department built with Rs 6.92 crore in Tirupati on Monday. During his visit to the city, he inaugurated the Anti-Corruption Bureau office building constructed with Rs 1.70 crore, and Intelligence office building built with a cost of Rs 3 crore. He also inaugurated Vigilance and Enforcement office building constructed with a cost of Rs 2.20 crore.

He later proceeded to Padmavathi Guest House, where he will stay overnight. There, Naidu inaugurated a new scheme through which women belonging to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) can sell the products, which are available online in villages. This was aimed at making the SHGs financially sound. For this, a new E-commerce for SHGs was launched. For this, the officials selected women from 30 villages, were brought to Tirupati.

In a bid to make Kuppam constituency, a full-fledged organic farming area, Naidu inaugurated the training programme to some farmers through video-conference. This was expected to make the farmers ready for the revolutionary changes in agriculture sector. He later, had a meeting with the local party leaders.

Earlier, Chandrababu Naidu reached Tirupati Airport at Renigunta in a special flight on Monday evening almost two hours behind the schedule. Collector PS Pradyumna, Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty and other officials received him at the airport. Chittoor MP Dr N Sivaprasad, ZP Chaiperson Geervani, MLAs Satya Prabha and Suguna, MLC G Sreenivasulu, TUDA Chairman G Narasimha Yadav and other leaders also received the CM at airport.
