Visakhapatnam: Navyandhra Pradesh assembly sessions of the winter season should take place in Araku or Visakhapatnam and for which the buildings need to be constructed, opined former MLA SA Rahman. He was speaking at a meeting organized for former legislators at a private hotel in the city on Monday.

To discuss the issues of former legislators of the state, Former Legislators Forum (FLF) would be organising a conference in Amaravati during September, said the FLF founding president and former MLA K Subba Raju.

Expressing concern over distribution of goodies and money in a big way to lure voters, Rahman said these kinds of activities pose a threat to democratic processes of the country. Some politicians with crime records, big industrialists and corporates were taking decisions as they wanted, he criticised. The government should allot lands to the former MLAs in the state capital for constructing houses, he demanded.

“As announced by the erstwhile governments, Alluri Seetharama Raju Museum at Krishna Devi Peta should be developed as a tourist spot. Besides, constructions of Gurujada auditorium in Visakhapatnam and Gurujada Knowledge Centre in Vizianagaram should start at the earliest,” the former VUDA Chairman said.

Later, former MLAs K Subbaraju and PV Chalapathi Rao were felicitated on the occasion.Former MLAs and MLCs Manam Anjaneyulu, Rajana Ramani, Allu Bhanumathi, KakaraNookaraju, Reddy Satyanarayana, PV Chalapathi Rao, RevuRatnaKumari and others took part in the meeting.
