District Superintendent of Police (SP) V Rajasekhar Babu said that role of police is crucial and challenging for maintaining law and order and safeguarding interests of the poor and weaker sections of the society.

The SP participated in the inaugural ceremony of 9-month induction training programme for women police constables at District Training Centre (DTC) here on Friday. Addressing the women trainee constables, Rajasekhar Babu has explained the various aspects of the Police department and significance of women cops.
He stated that getting a police job is not that easy in the present competitive world. He instructed the women trainee constables to start their career with commitment and loyalty. The new recruits will undergo training for nine months. In the training period, women trainee cops will learn about rules and duties to be followed.
The SP gave a call to them to build their careers and reach their goals. Rajasekhar Babu said that he would keep a special watch over the training classes and alert the trainers to give intense and effective training. Additional SP G R Radhika said that the opportunities for the women constables for reaching higher positions are more. She informed women trainee constables that women are not inferior to male in performing duties. DSPs Ramakrishna, Giridhar, Venkataiah, Devadas and Subba Rao, CIs and SIs were present.
